Our programs are catalyst for change

“Through relevant and innovative programs, we conduct activities that align with network objectives to promote public accountability in mangrove conservation within the WIO Region”

Our Network is committed to enhance collaborative effort of knowledge sharing and enhancing skills related to mangrove ecosystems in terms of research, conservation, and management practices. It underscores the importance of building expertise and capabilities among stakeholders within the region to better understand, protect, and sustainably manage mangrove forests

The Network promote the standardization of methodologies in conducting mangrove assessment and monitoring to ensure data collection and analysis processes protocols are uniform across WIOMN member states, to accurately evaluate mangrove health, biodiversity, and ecosystem services; and generate reliable findings that facilitates informed decision-making to supports targeted conservation efforts

WIOMN aims at enhancing production and dissemination of regional scientific publications, guidelines and manuals and policy briefs on mangrove research, to promote conservation and management within the Region

The Network build capacities to relevant stakeholders and/or actors through development and delivery of training programs, workshops, conferences on sustainable mangrove conservation and management

The Network aim at raising the profile of mangroves to stakeholders and/or actors across the region as a critically important ecosystem supporting many livelihoods and matters related to climate change mitigation and adaptation
